Fitur
FITUR is here again. And once again, the “tips2 are being spent. Let’s hope that this year, in a year of financial crisis, our money is being spent prudently – and to our Benefit. Let’s face it, in previous years and there have been many of them, and with NO crisis, have any of the FITUR promotional campaigns of Nerja really been of any use or of benefit to our municipality?

PUENTE VIEJO
Each time I travel over the “old bridge” I think about the person responsible for the initial project and its subsequent supervision.
Why? Because the paving stones, apart from being of very poor quality, are badly laid and have a terrible impact on the shock absorbers of the vehicles that travel over it.
Who ever was responsible for the “new laying of the old bridge”, may he continue on in this fashion, but as far as I am concerned, the work was appalling.

Padel courts
Where are they? It is a disgrace that we have to go to Velez, Torrox in order to practise such a simple hobby. There are an ever increasing number of padel players in Nerja but this obviously falls upon deaf eras in our local administration.

Tuesday Market
There is an expression that says “every pueblo is governed in accordance with what it deserves” and this is my point. The market is destined for Almijara, a “green area” officially, and now there is talk about moving the market to the Parque Verano Azul, which is also problematical.
Sr.alcalde you are “prepotent” thinking that the people of Nerja will purchase more as a result of the market move in local establishments or you have obviously no idea of local prices.
So, people of Nerja, governed by a PP majority administration, perhaps you should think again before casting you next vote.
I would also like to “pass on my regards” to the video comunitario, for broadcasting municipal assembly meetings that show that lack of respect from the spokesperson of the PP party to other councillors. It makes me sick.

Road Safety
Presumably others have noticed the stop sign in Calle Frigiliana.
If you haven,t please do take notice. From the crossroads, towards Calle Carabeo, from the car park and towards calle Rodriguez Acosta, visibility is nill, unless you lurch forwards seeing absolutely nothing at all. I would suggest that at the very least a mirror that would help improve the situation.
Thank-you

Street Works
I think that there is little or no information about street works and the disruption that the work causes. All of a sudden, and without any previous warning, the streets are cut off and we are diverted to all corners of the town. I only ask that prior warning is given so that we know what is happening and where we are meant to be going.

market for all
By sending the market out of Nerja to Almijara II, we'll all loose an important socio-cultural event, and a more than 60 years old tradition In El Chaparil, market was a walk away, not a journey. People would meet and sit down in some bar in the shade, now there is only one bar and no shade...!!

Garage access ramps on a pedestrian pavement.
I live in C/Chillar, Ed. La Rambla II, and I have a complaint to make. In this pedestrian street and in the one behind there are numerous garage access ramps that the Town Hall claim are illegal, despite the fact that they have existed for years. These ramps are dangerous; for people pushing prams, for elderly people and for every pedestrian that has to step down from the pavement and use the busy road that leads to the Mercadona Supermarket.
I hope that the Town Hall resolves the situation in order that pedestrians such as me can walk safely along a pavement meant for pedestrian use.

Enough Dog dirt!
I am complaining about the lack of responsibility from some dog owners who continue to let their pets soil our parks, pavements and roads. Why doesn´t the Town Hall do something about it? I sincerely hope that this message gets to those who need it.!

Burriana beach
I find it unbelievable that the Nerja Administation seems to think only of Burriana Beach. What about the Playazo and Torrecilla Beaches? The Playazo Beach would appear to not even belong to the municipality!! It´s totally unfair. I would like to ask our Mayor exactly when building work will begin on the Playazo beach? I am not a home owner, but I would like to become one just there! When though...??
Worried about youth street crime?
We do worry about the sad state of the ever increasing street crime committed by younger members of society. Fights in schools are recorded on mobile phones and subsequently posted on to the internet, and we then ask the question, what is happening within our society?
Well, I think the answer to that question is everywhere. One just has to look around for a moment to see that the issue lies in an increasing lack of EDUCATION and lack of RESPECT towards others.
Why is it that some people today cannot move to let another pass by on a narrow pavement, or use a waste-bin? Why are dogs permitted to soil our roads and paths, and allowed to roam aimlessly without a lead, possibly causing a potential accident?
A small pause at a school entrance will allow you to hear shouts and insults of varying degrees (children will shout of course) , but the degree of insult and abuse which I have so often heard saddens me. We must not permit these actions. Our children are our future.
The Big Bottle Party
Boxing Day morning and a filthy Verano Azul Park and petanque court caught the attention of many a passer by. Yes, the big bottle party, “El Botellón” had taken place, again. Bottles, plastic glasses, and rubbish strewn around; broken benches and lamp-posts, plants ruined. This is the result of a municipal park area that has been designated by the Town Hall as the most appropriate place for our youth to hold the “Gran Botellón”, some people now referring to it as “The Lawless Park”. Who therefore is defending the conservation of our municipal parks and green areas? When will this situation be resolved?
Rubbish bins
Or lack of them? I would like to complain about the lack of rubbish bins everywhere. In Calle Los Huertos, a long busy street full of businesses and transited by many there is just one rubbish bin. In other streets there are none!
Christmas lights
I think it is intolerable that the Town Hall of Nerja has left main streets such as Calle Angustias without Christmas lighting just because businesses have refused to pay 50 euros for their installation. What is worse where there is lighting there are huge spaces between one and another just because one poor resident hasn’t paid up and therefore there little bit of street is left in the dark!
Barranco del Puerto
The river bed as it is now. What a great shame, particularly for those of us who live here and use it as the sole access to our properties. Since the floods of September, practically nothing has been done to clear it up and the little that has been done is thanks to the efforts of our own residents. Burriana has been cleared up though. Burriana first said our Mayor. Here, we don’t even have any rubbish containers because the lorries still can’t get through and it’s beginning to look like a municipal rubbish tip.
We are waiting for this to be resolved.
